Before this event, Sebastien Ogier had said that he was going to be flat out to claim back the top position in the drivers championship. Well that’s what he did on Sunday afternoon when he claimed the 2014 WRC Mexico rally win for VW. The surprise of the event was Hyundai with there new i20 WRC claimed there first podium with Thierry Neuville in third, behind the second VW of Latvala. Young Brit Elfyn Evans had a good run to 4th in the M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC while another Brit Kris Meeke unfortunately ripped his rear left off the car over a bridge. Both Mikko Hirvonen and Robert Kubica had torrid times with Kubica rolling his car twice on the event.
