BMW M6 on video and Press Release.
So BMW has finally pulled the covers off the new M6 GT3 in Frankfurt. We knew it was coming and have seen shots of the car testing in camouflage, but BMW has finally shown of the final product. The new car will be replacing the BMW Z4 GT3 which has been in competition since 2010, it was powered by a Naturally aspirated 4.4L V8 that was based on the E92 M3. The new M6 GT3 is been powered by the production based 4.4L V8 with BMW’s M TwinPower Turbo Chargers this is being sent to the rear wheels like a proper BMW should with the help of a sequential six-speed racing gearbox. The race car weighs less than 1,300Kg and the body aerodynamics have been optimised in the wind tunnel for the best down force to drag ratio. The new car will be in customers hands for the start of the 2016 season, where it will be competing world wide. Now we just need to see what the GTLM M6 will look like.
