This video is another reminder as to why Motorsport can and is dangerous, and that doesn’t mean just because you are behind a fence spectating its not dangerous. Fortunately this video doesn’t involve any spectators but the driver did find a brake pedal that wasn’t how is should be when he came to breaking at the end of the long back straight over at The Circuit of the Americas. The Nissan 370z race car’s break pedal went solid, no movement at all, and the driver ploughed of the circuit to a 136mph impact with the barriers. Thankfully to the vast run-off area and the Tecpro barriers that are used at all top class race circuits the driver was able to walk away with no injury’s, just the sorry sight of a bent car.

In-car video of a brake failure at COTA during the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge on 9/19/14. The Tim Bell Racing #28 370Z left the track at 154mph, and hit the safety barrier at 136mph. Lucky the safety equipment and crew all worked flawlessly and Tim Bell was able to walk away unharmed.
